Why Marshmallow Root? A perennial botanical native to Europe, western Asia, and North Africa, marshmallow was introduced to the U.S. as a medicinal plant and has been naturalized in the eastern U.S. An herb high in mucilage, marshmallow root is ideal to help support normal clearing of the throat and chest.
Benefits: Marshmallow root, while not sweet like the fluffy candy, gently supports the body by soothing the throat from everyday coughs. Marshmallow can help maintain healthy, normal cell integrity.
Formula:
THROAT AND COUGH-EASE TEA:
Marshmallow Althaea officinalis root: 1 teaspoon
Peppermint Mentha xpiperita leaves: 1 teaspoon
Yarrow Achillea millefolium leaves: 1 teaspoon
Pour the boiling water over the herbs and leave it to steep for five to 10 minutes. Strain the tea, and it’s ready to drink. Sweeten with organic honey to taste.
